Emerging Young Leaders Meeting Concludes in Hanoi, Vietnam

The two-day Emerging Young Leaders meeting in Hanoi, Vietnam has officially concluded. The intense conference was a valuable learning experience for attendees, who gathered to discuss important issues and make key connections with leaders in their respective fields.

One notable achievement from the meeting was the acceptance of the Cardiothoracic Society of PNG’s application to become a member of the Asia Pacific Society of Cardiology (APSC). As a result, the society will be formally inducted into the APSC during a ceremony in Singapore next year, and Dr. Noah Tapaua, the President of  Cardiothoracic Society of PNG, has been invited to attend. In addition, Dr. Tapaua has also been made a member of the faculty of the APSC, marking a significant accomplishment for the society.

During the conference, Dr. Tapaua presented on the challenges faced by the society in PNG, and attendees were amazed by the difficulties faced by the society. Several speakers throughout the conference referenced the presentation, as it highlighted key approaches to overcoming these challenges that others in attendance also learned from.

The conference was attended by speakers from the US and UK, as well as editors from the European Society of Cardiology. Dr. Tapaua, the President of the Cardiothoracic Society of PNG, will be in Singapore tomorrow and plans to meet with the CT Director on Monday to discuss accepting trainees from the society. Overall, the Emerging Young Leaders meeting was a great success and provided valuable insights for all who attended.
